Daisies – Because Spring is Coming

Chorizo and Schnitzel

Chorizo in Daniel Boone's hand :)

Yesterday, me and Sidekick and our two dogs took a nice long 2-hour walk down on Main Street in St. Charles. It was a startling 55 degrees :o

It was gorgeous!

We experienced a little taste of (much needed) spring weather – which got me thinking about one of my favorite flowers – Daisies! They are just cute.  Flowers on cakes is a no-brainer anyway… and I wanted to invite spring sooner rather than later via some type of sugar daisy. They last way longer than cut flowers  – plus I can eat them. *Don’t eat real daises!!* As you know, last week I made roses after I posted a video how-to for Buttercream Roses- so,  maybe I should also try to make daises…. wouldn’t you like to see that? Oh I know you do ;) Ah, flowers…. can’t wait for spring.

Whilst looking for a how-to for daises, I stumbled across Edna. She has a company called Design Me A Cake with several tutorials on her website which she also has posted on youtube. I love listening to her voice – I could probably listen to her talk about anything – better yet, read me something :)

The video I have chosen to share with you, my awesome cakers, is Edna making Royal Icing Daises. You can make daisies out of gumpaste, but that is simply cutting it out with a cookie cutter – I knew my cakers would enjoy something with more skill

Spring is in the air, cakers– or at least in sugar,

Shannon
